Introducing...

Vessl is an exciting upcoming project, conceived and designed in and for the Ouseburn Valley.
The project is a complex of 28 studio spaces and 3 ground-floor restaurant spaces. Studio units will range from 20m² to 48m² with rates to be agreed.
The scheme was conceived in response to the lack of availability of workspace for the creative sector: Artisans and creatives made the Ouseburn the culturally unique and innovative place it is today, and by designing and creating the space in the most affordable way possible, we hope to encourage future generations to set up here.
Situated on a former canvas and sail works on Lime St, the design is based on re-used shipping containers with some ancillary steel structures for communal spaces and access areas. The existing derelict building will be demolished, with the bricks and scaffolding to be reused and built back into the new landscape.
The design and fabrication is planned in conjunction with Raskl. Art + Architectural, using their extensive experience in CNC-based fabrication and structure design. This will allow the delivery of a locally-made building system which could be rolled out to other difficult-to-develop sites.
