Secret Stair

The brief for this project was to create a secret staircase concealed by a grand mirrored wardrobe, and access to a guest suite.

The doors to the far right of the wardrobe open to reveal a staircase, creating the effect of disappearing into the wardrobe and appearing in the alcove above.

The route to the guest room is then continued with a curved steel stair which winds from a second alcove up to meet the floor above the timber ceiling. This was fabricated in mild steel and patinated to achieve a Corten effect.
